Why MSME Manufacturers Are Losing Buyers Every Single Day

Helping MSME & Industrial Businesses Get Found Online & Generate Buyer Inquiries | Founder — Noor Digital | 10 Years in Digital Marketing
June 11, 2026
In my last 3 months speaking to over 120 MSME manufacturers across Maharashtra, I found one pattern that shocked me—almost every one was losing buyer inquiries daily. Not because their products were bad. But because buyers simply could not find them online.
I am Murtaza Gurka, founder of Noor Digital—an MSME and Industrial Digital Marketing Agency based in Dombivli, Mumbai. We work exclusively with manufacturing and industrial businesses. No retail. No healthcare. Only B2B industrial. Because your buyers think differently. And so should your digital presence.
This article is not about theory. It is about what I see every single day when I look at the online presence of MSME manufacturers across Maharashtra and India—and about what needs to change.
Part 1 — The Old Website Problem
The Hard Truth About Most MSME Websites
Let me ask you something. When did you last update your company website?
If the answer is more than 2 years ago — your website is actively costing you money every single day.
Here is what I see on most MSME manufacturer websites in Maharashtra:
- Outdated copyright—Website copyright says 2017 or 2019
- No product details—Products listed but no specifications, dimensions or applications
- No WhatsApp button—The buyer has to fill a form to contact you
- Flash website—Invisible or broken on mobile devices
- Placeholder content—Lorem Ipsum text still visible
- Slow loading—Page loads in 8 to 12 seconds on mobile
- No business email—Using Gmail instead of a professional email address
Every one of these issues tells a buyer one thing—this company does not take their online presence seriously. And if they do not take their online presence seriously, will they take my order seriously?
Why Google Ignores Old Websites
Google's algorithm rewards websites that are updated regularly, load fast, have proper keywords, and work on mobile. An old MSME website often has none of these.
The result? When a purchase manager searches for terms like "thinner drum manufacturer Maharashtra" or "industrial pump supplier Mumbai", your competitor appears on Page 1 while your website appears on Page 4—or not at all.
Wasp Pumps Pvt. Ltd., an industrial pump manufacturer in Mumbai, was virtually invisible on Google before optimization. Within 90 days, they achieved Page 1 rankings, 493 website visitors, 500+ LinkedIn followers and 113 visits to their contact page—without spending on advertising.
What a Website Needs in 2026 to Rank on Google
- Mobile-first design that loads in under 3 seconds
- Product-specific keywords in titles, headings and content
- Dedicated product pages with complete specifications
- Visible WhatsApp CTA on every page
- Professional business email
- SSL security (HTTPS)
- FAQ sections to answer buyer questions
Part 2 — The Google Business Profile Problem
The Most Ignored Tool in MSME Digital Marketing
Google Business Profile (GBP) is free, takes only a few hours to set up, and is one of the most powerful digital marketing tools available to MSME manufacturers.
Yet most profiles suffer from:
- Showing "Temporarily Closed" despite being operational
- Showing "Permanently Closed" incorrectly
- Linking to IndiaMart or LinkedIn instead of the company website
- No posts for months
- No products or services listed
- Outdated photos
- Incorrect business address
When buyers search locally, Google displays the top businesses in the Local Pack. Those businesses receive the majority of clicks. If your profile is incomplete or inactive, you lose those opportunities to competitors.
How to Fix Your Google Business Profile
- Log in to your Google Business Profile.
- Update operating status and business hours.
- Add your official website link.
- Upload recent photos of your factory, products and team.
- Add all products and services with descriptions.
Post at least once every week. Product photos, dispatch updates, customer stories and company achievements all help maintain visibility.
Part 3 — The LinkedIn Problem
Why LinkedIn Is the Most Underused MSME Tool in India
The purchase manager ordering products from your company is likely already active on LinkedIn.
So are:
- Plant heads
- Procurement managers
- Industrial buyers
- Export purchasers
LinkedIn is no longer just a job portal. For industrial businesses, it has become a powerful buyer discovery platform.
Common LinkedIn Mistakes
- Missing or unprofessional profile photo
- Generic headline
- Inactive company page
- Connecting with the wrong audience
- Posting product photos without context
- No proof of expertise or results
The 3-Step LinkedIn System
Step 1 — Improve Your Headline
Instead of "Managing Director at XYZ Company," use a headline that explains what you manufacture, who you serve and where you are located.
Step 2 — Post Consistently
Share product dispatches, factory updates, customer applications and industry insights two to three times per week.
Step 3 — Connect With Buyers
Use LinkedIn search to find purchasing managers, procurement heads and decision makers in industries that use your products.
The Real Cost of Doing Nothing
- Old Website: Buyers find competitors instead of you.
- Inactive Google Business Profile: Local buyers never see your business.
- No LinkedIn Presence: Potential customers question your credibility.
The good news is that all three problems can be fixed without spending heavily on advertising or hiring a large agency.
